On February 27, the price of electrolytic cobalt declined Yuan 2,055/tonne to Yuan 438,900-441,136/tonne from the previous trading day. However, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride continued to remain stable at Yuan 95,500/t-98,500/t and 115,000-119,000/t respectively.Supported by robust raw material costs, major smelters of cobalt sulfate maintained a clear intention to support prices, keeping the comprehensive market price for new stocks at around Yuan 96,000/tonne. The downstream precursor for ternary cathodes has been in its traditional off season, with procurement limited to essential needs. Post-holiday, some manufacturers temporarily refrained from quoting prices, while others maintained their pre-holiday quotes. A small number of manufacturers made quotations at Yuan 94,500/t (payment upon delivery).
