WEEKLY: China 300-series stainless prices outshine 200, 400-grade

Prices of the widely-traded austenitic series of stainless steel rose across China's major trading hubs during Mysteel's survey period of February 13-28, while those of 200 and 400 series remained flat as their stocks had risen, Mysteel Global noted. The survey period covered the Chinese New Year (CNY) holiday over February 15-23 and two substitute workdays on February 14 and February 28.

On February 28, Mysteel assessed the spot price of 304/2B Hongwang 2*1240mm stainless cold-rolled coil (CRC) in Wuxi, East China at Yuan 14,350/t ($2,092/t) in-warehouse and including the 13% VAT, higher by Yuan 200/t from February 12. The gains tracked stainless steel futures prices, with the most-traded stainless contract on
