DAILY: China's met coke prices expected to dip as pressures mount

The Chinese metallurgical coke market is expected to enter a downward trajectory, as some domestic steelmakers were heard planning to kick off new cuts on their coke purchasing prices on March 4. If this happens, it is likely to be easily materialized across the country, considering the weakening cost support from upstream coking coal, Mysteel learned.

On Tuesday, Mysteel's assessments for China's quasi-first-grade met coke prices for wet- and dry-quenching types both stood flat from a day earlier at Yuan 1,427.9/tonne ($206.9/t) and Yuan 1,569.8/t, including the 13% VAT, respectively.
