MYSTEEL: China's FeCr output dips but remains elevated in Feb

China's total domestic production of high-carbon ferrochrome (HC FeCr) stood at 851,600 tonnes in February, marking a month-on-month decrease of 3.5% from January but representing a substantial year-on-year surge of 48.1%, according to Mysteel's latest survey covering 180 domestic smelters. For the first two months of 2026 combined, cumulative production reached 1.73 million tonnes, a sharp 43.3% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

Mysteel data show that Inner Mongolia, the country's primary production hub, produced 684,300 tonnes last month, and while this represents a slight 1.2% drop from January, it still marks a robust 33.1% increase from February last year.
