SHFE nickel, copper futures drop, aluminum climbs on week

Prices of major non-ferrous metal futures on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) – nickel, copper and aluminum – moved in contrasting directions during the February 27-March 6 week. Nickel and copper futures weakened, while aluminum futures strengthened.
By the close of Friday's daytime trading session, the most-traded May nickel futures contract had fallen by 3.1% from a week earlier to Yuan 137,140/tonne ($19,883/t), the most-traded April copper contract declined by 2.8% on week to Yuan 101,050/t. In contrast, the most-traded May aluminum contract had climbed by 3.6%
