WEEKLY: China mills' import iron ore stocks, usage both fall amid production curbs

The recent production curbs in North China have dampened the overall operations of Chinese steelmakers, resulting in a decline in their raw material consumption as well as a slowdown in ore replenishment, Mysteel's latest survey showed.

During March 5-11, daily consumption of imported sintering fines among the 64 Chinese blast-furnace (BF) steel producers under Mysteel's tracking dropped by 20,400 tonnes/day or 3.7% on week to an average of 533,900 t/d, marking the lowest level so far this year.
