WEEKLY: China ferrous scrap prices continue strengthening

Steel Scrap Demand Inventory Price
Chinese prices for ferrous scrap continued to track upward in the past week, driven by a further recovery in the scrap demand among steelmakers, Mysteel's latest survey showed.
As of March 13, China's national composite steel scrap price was assessed by Mysteel at Yuan 2,490/tonne ($361/t) including the 13% VAT, higher by 1.3% from a week earlier.   During March 9-13, the total steel scrap consumption by the 300 blast furnace (BF) and electric-arc-furnace (EAF) steelmakers under Mysteel's tracking
