In the spot market, soybean oil trading volumes and prices have both increased in recent days. On one hand, downstream inventory levels remain relatively low, driving just-in-time replenishment; on the other hand, with expectations of lower crush volumes in April, the strengthening basis has spurred restocking activity. The direction of outright futures prices remains highly tied to crude oil price movements. At present, the US-Iran conflict has persisted for nearly a month, and as diplomatic negotiations gain traction, the likelihood of vegetable oil prices breaking through previous highs is diminishing, which also supports basis performance.
