WEEKLY: China's FeSi prices, output both fall

Chinese ferrosilicon (FeSi) prices declined during the week of March 25-31 due to the retreat in FeSi futures prices and the wait-and-see market sentiment. Production also declined in the wake of the domestic smelters' thin profit margins.
On March 31, the spot price of 75% FeSi was assessed by Mysteel at Yuan 5,677/tonne ($822/t) including the 13% VAT, falling by Yuan 29/t from the week before.   As for the derivative market, the most-traded FeSi contract on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange for delivery in May closed the daytime
