On April 24, the price of electrolytic cobalt rose Yuan 2,023/tonne to Yuan 408,809-411,545/tonne from the previous trading day. Moreover, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride continued to remain unchanged at Yuan 93,000/t-96,000/t and 113,000-118,000/t individually. Supported strongly by raw material costs, mainstream cobalt sulfate smelters showed a clear willingness to hold prices firm. However, downstream manufacturers exhibited strong sentiment to drive prices down. Offers from small and medium-sized plants edged lower, while mainstream transaction prices remained around Yuan 93,000/tonne.
