WEEKLY: Chinese mills near completion of pre-holiday iron ore restocking

With just a couple days left before the five-day May Day holiday in China begins on May 1, domestic steel mills have accumulated moderate inventories of imported iron ore through active pre-holiday buying, new Mysteel data showed.

By April 29, inventories of imported iron ore sintering fines among the 64 Chinese blast-furnace (BF) steelmakers under Mysteel's tracking had risen by 637,200 tonnes or 4.7% on week to 14.07 million tonnes, marking a two-month high.
