DAILY: China's coking coal prices surge higher on tight supply

China's coking coal prices continued to surge on June 5, as domestic supply remained tight amid fitful mine restarts in North China's Shanxi province.

Last Friday, Mysteel Coking Coal Index (MCCI), which tracks coking coal prices nationwide in China, reached Yuan 1,558.8/tonne ($229.8/t) including the 13% VAT, up another Yuan 23/t from the previous session.
