WEEKLY: Chinese alumina prices largely hold firm

Chinese alumina prices remained broadly stable during the May 29-June 4 week, as cautious purchasing by primary aluminum smelters stifled market activity.

As of June 4, the weighted national average spot price for smelter-grade alumina with a minimum purity of 98.6% stood at Yuan 2,703/tonne ($398.4/t), unchanged from a week earlier, according to Mysteel's price assessment.
