According to Mysteel's assessment, China's domestic lithium ore prices rose modestly yesterday, but lithium refineries grew less active in procurement, leading to an overall decline in transaction volumes.
For lithium carbonate, the futures price slightly rose after continuous declines, but most downstream buyers showed limited enthusiasm for spot purchases at the beginning of the month they they have long-term feedstock contracts or tolling orders in place, and the basis remained weak. On the demand side, China's lithium iron phosphate (LFP) production reached 498,300 tonnes in May 2026, up 4.2% month-on-month. In June, the production is expected to rise further to 519,300 tonnes, a month-on-month increase of 4.21%, with production capacity continuing to ramp up in Shandong, Sichuan, and other regions.
