WEEKLY: Poor demand abroad sends Chinese HRC export prices lower

Chinese export prices of hot-rolled coil (HRC) continued to edge down during June 1-5, as lackluster overseas demand and falling domestic HRC prices weighed on the hot coil export market.

On June 5, Mysteel assessed the export price of SS400 3mm commercial-grade HRC at North China's Tianjin port at $502/tonne FOB, easing by another $3/t from $505/t FOB at the start of the week on June 1. Export offers from private Chinese mills also softened slightly to $503/t FOB China
