DAILY: China's met coke producers kick off eighth price hike

China's metallurgical coke producers have quickly pushed for a fresh round of price hikes on June 17, shortly after the seventh bout materialized two days ago. With the bullish outlook still intact, market participants are increasingly anticipating more rounds of coke price markups in the near future.

Mysteel Coke Index (MCI) CDQ, which tracks China's national dry-quenched quasi-first-grade met coke prices, stood unchanged on day at Yuan 1,892.6/tonne ($280.1/t) on Tuesday, while the MCI CWQ for wet-quenched quasi-first-grade met coke also remained flat at Yuan 1,725.3/t, both including VAT.
