WEEKLY: China's coking coal output recovers, but sentiment sours

Coal production among the 523 Chinese coking coal mines under Mysteel's nationwide survey recovered over June 11-17 after declining for three consecutive weeks, according to the latest survey result. However, the recovery in output appeared to dampen bullish sentiment among market participants, with coking coal futures recording consecutive declines last week.

During the survey period, raw coal output from the 523 sampled mines averaged 1.6 million tonnes/day, rising 3.6% from the previous week's low of 1.56 million t/d, Mysteel data showed.
