DAILY: China's met coke prices to firm further, longer-term scenario clouded

China's metallurgical coke market maintained a strong performance on June 25, with prices biased toward the upside after coke producers pressed ahead with a fresh round of price increases through negotiations with steel mills.

Mysteel Coke Index (MCI) CDQ, which tracks China's national dry-quenched quasi-first-grade met coke prices, remained unchanged from the previous session at Yuan 1,946.4/tonne ($286.3/t) on Thursday, while the MCI CWQ for wet-quenched quasi-first-grade met coke also stood flat at Yuan 1,771.6/t, both including VAT.
