On July 2, China's nickel sulfate prices held flat. The midpoint price for battery-grade nickel sulfate crystals stood at Yuan 32,100/tonne; the midpoint price for battery-grade nickel sulfate liquid was Yuan 31,600/tonne. The midpoint price for electroplating-grade nickel sulfate was Yuan 33,750/tonne; the midpoint price for electroplating-grade nickel chloride was Yuan 38,250/tonne.The nickel sulfate market continued its weak downward trend. On the cost side, global nickel metal prices pulled back in a range, weakening cost support for nickel sulfate, and producers found it difficult to effectively pass through their price firming intentions. On the supply side, availability of intermediates such as nickel matte and nickel briquettes loosened slightly, raw material supply for smelting was generally adequate, and finished product inventories at plants accumulated somewhat.
