China's coking coal prices extended their declines on July 8 even as supply stayed tight, weighed by expectations of lower downstream demand that may temporarily ease the supply-demand gap.

Mysteel Coking Coal Index (MCCI), which tracks coking coal prices nationwide in China, softened to Yuan 1,698.9/tonne ($249.9/t) including the 13% VAT on Wednesday, dipping by another Yuan 2.3/t from the previous session and marking declines for nearly two weeks.
