Seaborne iron ore prices edge higher despite reduced market activity

Seaborne iron ore prices edged higher on Friday, July 10, despite thinner market activity, with trading concentrated on medium-grade fines. The Mysteel SEADEX 61% Fines climbed 0.56% or $0.55/dmt to $98.85/dmt, and the 62% Low Alumina Fines index gained 0.48% or $0.50/dmt to $105.25/dmt. All indices are assessed on a CFR Qingdao basis.

Primary market liquidity softened, with no trades concluded on public trading platforms. One participant placed bids for July-arrival combined MACF and NHGF cargoes at a discount of $1.50/dmt to the July index, though no sellers were willing to match such levels. One trader noted, "Our offer for July-loading NHGF stands
