China IV/V truck retirement and high fuel prices propel new energy heavy trucks into golden era
China's heavy-duty truck sales reached 115,000 units in June, up 18% YoY, hitting a five-year high for the month. New energy heavy-duty trucks were sold 32,500 units (+80.56% YoY), while LNG trucks were sold only 12,000 units (-11.45% YoY). The accelerated phase-out of China IV and V trucks has prompted replacement demand, and combined with high oil/gas prices and policy subsidies, new energy heavy-duty trucks have reached an inflection point toward rapid growth.
China's refined oil production to shrink 1.5% MoM in Jul
China's refined oil production fell 4.62% month-on-month in June and 17.23% year-on-year, driven by extensive maintenance, US-Iran tensions disrupting crude arrivals, and poor marginse, specially at independent refineries. July production is set to rise month-on-month, while daily average output is projected to fall 1.51% on a calendar-adjusted basis, a slightly larger decline than in June.
New butane deep-processing capacity in Shandong to further tighten LPG supply
On July 6, 2026, Zhenhua New Materials in Dongying, Shandong successfully commissioned its 425,000 t/y isobutane dehydrogenation unit and supporting 660,000 t/y MTBE joint facility, marking a new addition to Shandong's butane deep-processing sector. As a core player in the Dongying Port C4 industrial chain, this is the second new integrated deep-processing capacity in the province since the MTBE export boom cycle of 2022.
