Billet prices in Tangshan in North China's Hebei province rose slightly on week during July 13-19, with Mysteel assessing the price of Q235 150mm square billet in the city at Yuan 2,990/tonne ($441/t) EXW and including the 13% VAT on July 19, up by Yuan 20/t on week.
Despite the small price gain, local steelmakers continued to suffer losses when selling their billets, which prompted some to halt operations.
