On July 22, SHFE tin prices fluctuated with a weak bias intraday, but the daily average edged slightly higher day on day. According to Mysteel, as of 15:30 in the Shanghai market, 1# tin ingot traded at Yuan 415,500–418,500/tonne, averaging Yuan 417,000/tonne, up Yuan 2,000/tonne from the previous day. In the spot market, downstream and end-user firms mostly stayed on the sidelines, showing limited purchasing interest. Overall trading was thin, with only a very few buyers making hand-to-mouth purchases. Looking ahead, intensifying geopolitical conflicts and the off-season consumption in the Chinese market will curb tin prices, while tight ore supply and continuous inventory destocking will provide downside support. Amid these mixed factors, tin prices are expected to fluctuate with a weak bias in the short term.
