The lithium carbonate market saw continued tug-of-war between firm fundamentals and future supply ramp-up as well as uncertainties over demand sustainability. On the supply side, routinue overhaul among some lithium refineries and slow shipment from Zimbabwe constrained recent lithium carbonate production, and Mysteel's survey also suggested persistent inventory drawdown across the industry chain. Yet, the steadily progressing restart at Jianxiawo Mine and slowly recovering port arrivals from Zimbabwe have capped the momentum.
Looking ahead, the market focus shall be on the production scheduling and stockpiling pace ahead of the traditional seasonal high to verify the demand resilience, and the full-year supply-demand balance of 2027 is also worth attention.
