Based on Mysteel's tracking, the lithium converters were mostly wait-and-see as they have largely completed their restocking for the third quarter at relatively high cost. Trading activity reported by the traders remained subdued, with both lithium ore spot and marketable inventories both modestly accumulating, and processing fees lacking further downward momentum. Overseas lithium ore continued to arrive at ports.
For lithium carbonate, the futures price hovered rangebound, pointing to continued wrestling between bulls and bears. On the spot market, the downstream consumers acquired feedstock primarily via long-term or tolling orders, with slow procurement of spot lithium carbonate. And spot transactions were active when lithium prices dropped below the monthly average.
