WEEKLY: Chinese traders' stainless steel stocks down slowly

Total inventories of finished stainless steel in commercial warehouses in Wuxi and Foshan, China's two main stainless steel trading hubs, continued the downtrend during August 7-13, marking the second consecutive week of decreases. However, the pace of destocking slowed, with inventories only inching down by 0.1% on week to 920,983 tonnes, compared with a 2.1% decline in the previous week, according to Mysteel's latest weekly survey.

The survey covers 50 warehouses in Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province and 28 in Foshan in South China's Guangdong province. The on-week dip was mainly seen in stainless steel stocks at the warehouses in Foshan, where the stockpiles fell by 0.9% from one week earlier, while the volume at
