WEEKLY: China's HRC output climbs again, prices edge up

Hot-rolled coil (HRC) production among the 37 Chinese steelmakers regularly surveyed by Mysteel rebounded by 90,300 tonnes or 3.1% on week to 2.97 million tonnes during August 6-12, as some mills resumed production on previously idled strip mills during the survey period, Mysteel's latest survey showed.

The average capacity utilization rate for strip mills among the surveyed 37 steelmakers increased by 2.31 percentage points on week to 75.82% during the period. Similarly, the average operation rate of the surveyed mills also rose by 1.56 percentage points to 79.69%.
