Currently, China's lithium carbonate prices have been collectively supported by gradually materializing demand-peak as well as slower-than-expected supply additions, including sustained inventory drawdown based on Mysteel's weekly tracking, again delayed mine restart, and recent strike in Chile.
Mysteel's latest survey showed that China's LFP cathode production rose 8.42% MoM to 575,700 tonnes in August, with tighter supply from additional cell orders. September output is forecast at 604,800 tonnes (+5.05% MoM), supported by more tolling orders and capacity ramp-ups. It is likely that the lithium carbonate prices will remain relatively firm in the near term.
