China's manganese ore prices remain firm

China's manganese ore prices strengthened further during the period of August 26-September 1, with the price of South Africa-origin 36.5% grade manganese ore at North China's Tianjin port under Mysteel's assessment reaching Yuan 34.2/dmtu ($5.1/dmtu) including the 13% VAT on September 1, rising by a tiny Yuan 0.2/dmtu on week.

The continuous uptick was mainly attributed to positive market sentiment among Chinese manganese ore traders, as silicomanganese (SiMn) prices remained strong in the derivative market, while spot prices also stayed firm.
