DAILY: China's coking coal futures slump on faster mine restart expectations

Chinese coking coal derivatives fell in Thursday's night session on rumors that authorities would speed up mine restarts. The downturn continued Friday morning, with nearby futures contracts hitting limit-down.

By 11:30 on September 18, coking coal contracts for October and November delivery on the Dalian Commodity Exchange were still suspended at limit-down, 8% below Thursday's settlement prices.
