DAILY: China's coke futures slump, spot market largely stable

China's coke futures fell sharply on September 18, pressured by expectations of looser coking coal supply as coal mine restarts were set to accelerate. The spot coke market was largely stable amid relatively tight coke supply.
Mysteel Coke Index (MCI) CDQ, which tracks China's national dry-quenched quasi-first-grade met coke prices, was unchanged from the previous session at Yuan 2,323.3/tonne ($347/t) last Friday, while the MCI CWQ for wet-quenched quasi-first-grade met coke also held steady at Yuan 2,131.6/t, both including VAT.   Last Friday, China's coke futures registered
