The most-traded lithium carbonate futures contract on Guangzhou Futures Exchange (GFEX) kept bottoming and consolidating in the session ending September 18, with the settlement price falling 4.11% against the previous Friday September 11, data showed. The market trading centered around the previous bears which were yet to be fully digested, while the firm fundamentals limited the downside. The bears included the rising lithium ore supply, and downside adjustment in ternary cathode production scheduling in September, in addition to pressure from the macro front and concerns over future demand sustainability. Yet, the fundamentals provided support.
