WEEKLY SUMMARY: Chian's raw mat prices slide after holiday

With market trading gradually resuming after a seven-day national holiday, China's spot prices of major steelmaking raw materials, including iron ore and metallurgical coke, posted marked drops during October 8-10 compared with their pre-holiday levels.

Production among the 247 blast-furnace (BF) steelmakers under Mysteel's tracking remained largely stable over October 1-8, with their total hot metal output holding steady on week at 2.34 million t/d. However, most BF mills tended to cut their purchase prices for feed materials as they were still struggling with
