Tin prices rose on October 12. According to Mysteel's survey, the 1# tin ingot quote was in the range of Yuan 397,500-399,500/tonne, averaging Yuan 398,500/tonne, up Yuan 5,000/tonne from the previous trading day. In market trading, some smelters held firm on prices, with moderate shipments. After restocking during the earlier low-price period, downstream purchasing enthusiasm fell notably. End-user orders showed no clear increase, and restocking willingness was largely limited to essential needs. Overall, spot market trading was subdued. Looking ahead, a weak euro, sticky inflation, and high 10-year U.S. Treasury yields are keeping the U.S. dollar index elevated, which may weigh on tin prices. On fundamentals, tight feedstock supply, maintenance at leading producers, and falling overseas inventories provide some support for tin prices. In the short term, tin prices are expected to trade rangebound at Yuan 385,000–415,000/tonne.
