Spot thermal coal prices at China's major producing hubs kept falling on October 22, with the bearish sentiment spilling over into northern transfer ports and finally putting a two-week rally to an end.

Mines cutting prices in Inner Mongolia and Shaanxi – key producing hubs – continued to outnumber those raising prices, as demand remained subdued. Traders grew more hesitant to take positions, concerned that further supply releases under a raft of supply-guarantee policies could put additional downward pressure on prices. Out of
