MYSTEEL: China's thermal coal mines seek output expansions, but real recovery remains slow

Thermal coal miners in Inner Mongolia and Shaanxi, two of three largest producing hubs in China, have begun filing applications to expand their production capacity, according to a Mysteel survey recently.

While no formal announcement has been issued by the local governments, the process is at the stage of miners filing applications, respondents told Mysteel during the survey. How much capacity applicants seek to expand must be calculated on their resource reserves and meet stringent conditions, Mysteel learned, with applications submitted
