The most-traded lithium carbonate futures price agained turned bearish amidst market rumors that the Jianxiawo Mine will potential resume the operations in early November, adding to the bear side. In addition, the potentially falling LFP cathode production scheduling in November further dampened the market confidence.
On the spot market, the rapid price cut encouraged the procurement among cathode plants, which lifted the lithium carbonate spot transactions yesterday. For lithium ore, demand still existed for November and December, and the refineries cautiously closed the back-pricing orders on the dip. Overall, the lithium carbonate prices are expected to stay soft in the near term.
