DAILY: China coking coal futures rally on Mongolian supply snag, yet spot lags

China's coking coal futures strengthened on October 28 after news broke that Mongolia suspended road transport along a key coal export corridor to China. The spot market, however, seemed barely stirred by the transport disruption -- trading of Mongolian coal at Chinese border ports remained sluggish and domestic coking coal prices continued to soften.

On the Dalian Commodity Exchange, the most-traded coking coal contract for January delivery closed Wednesday's daytime session at Yuan 1,424/tonne ($213.7/t), up 2.7% from Tuesday's settlement price.
