Vale halts Viga concentration plant on permit issue

Vale, the world’s top iron ore miner headquartered in Brazil informed the public on August 15 local time to temporarily halt the operations of the Viga concentration plant of its newly-acquired Ferrous Resources do Brasil in Minas Gerais, South Brazil, due to permit issues.
There is “an inconsistency in the documents related to the operation permit from the municipality of Jeceaba”, according to the mining company, but the mining operations at the Viga mine “are not affected by this decision and will continue as usual”.
This is just 15 days after Vale announced the acquisition
