Taiwan’s CSC posts first lossmaking in Nov in four years

China Steel Corporation (CSC), Taiwan’s top steel producer headquartered in Kaohsiung, South Taiwan, posted the first monthly lossmaking in November since February 2016 because of continuing price declines throughout 2019, and steel sales volume declined for the fourth month, according to the company’s latest monthly report.

For November, the integrated steel producer posted a loss of TWD 294 million ($9.7 million), falling sharply from the October profit at TWD 500 million, Mysteel Global noted from CSC monthly reports. “Steel demand in Taiwan has been lacklustre this year, and our steel sales prices both for the local
