China’s imported nickel concentrates stocks dip further

Stocks of imported nickel concentrates at the 15 major ports across China under Mysteel’s regular check continued to decline over the past week, refreshing the low since last November 22 to reach 15.2 million tonnes as of February 21, down by another 667,900 tonnes or 4.2% on week, market sources said on Wednesday. The fall in the volume of stocks reflected the fact that transportation systems, especially truck transport, have gradually recovered.
Overall, logistics services at each of the ports
surveyed have gradually returned to normal since last week, a Shanghai-based
market insider said. Though cross-provincial and long-distance transportation
is still difficult for a few regions, many highways have reopened for traffic and
toll charges have been waived, she noted.
