WEEKLY: China’s SiMn output dips on weakening price

China’s silicomanganese (SiMn) output declined for a fourth consecutive week over July 3-9, as more smelters reduced output given their increased production costs and the persistent weakness in the prices of the ferroalloy, Mysteel Global learned.
Over July 3-9, daily SiMn outputamong the 121 SiMn smelters across the countryaveraged 25,395 tonnes/day, sliding by another 255 t/d on week, according to Mysteel’s latest weekly survey. The surveyed sampleshost almost all the country’s SiMn capacity. Domestic SiMn pricescontinuedto struggle over the past week, tracking downwards with the lower buying prices tabled by steel producers
