Port Hedland Sept iron ore shipments to China steady

Port Hedland, the top iron ore terminal in Western Australia, exported around 39.7 million tonnes of iron ore to China in September, being largely steady with a 1% on-month decline or 10.3% higher on year, and the volume accounted for 87.2% of port’s iron ore shipments to worldwide, according to the latest statistics from the Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA).
Worldwide, iron ore dispatched from Hedland presented a similar trend in September with the volume down 1.1% on month but up 8.6% on year to 45.6 million tonnes in total, Mysteel Global calculated basing on the PPA data.
