WEEKLY: China’s coking capacity use down to 3-month low

Capacity utilization among the 230 Chinese independent coking plants under Mysteel’s weekly survey dropped by 1.5 percentage points on week to a three-month low of 75.4% as of November 19, according to the survey report published on Friday. The reduction in facilities usage during the survey period reflects stoppages for environmental protection inspections in Shanxi plus the ongoing campaign in several provinces to eliminate outdated capacity, the report notes.
