WEEKLY: China’s rebar export prices and volume grow

Since the start of 2021, China’s rebar export price has caught up with speed in strengthening, up $15/tonne on week or $30/t higher than the end of December, and the export volume has surged too, while the hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices has shown signs of waning after the earlier spree in December, Mysteel’s latest weekly report.

Over January 9-15, the export price of B500B 16-25mm rebar increased to $630/t FOB at Zhangjiagang port, East China’s Jiangsu province, while the export price of SS400 4.75mm HRC inched down $1/t on week or down $6/t from the end of last month to $664/t FOB at North China’s Tianjin
