Vale’s Q1 copper production down 19% on year

Vale, a global leading miner headquartered in Brazil, produced 76,500 tonnes of copper in metal for Q1 2021, down 19% on year or 18.2% lower on quarter, mainly due to the maintenance as planned and unexpected as well as the degrading in some mining regions, according to the company’s latest Q1 report released on April 19.

As for sales, Vale sold 71,200 tonnes of copper in metal in the first quarter, which declined 20.2%
