China’s electrode prices remain stable in quiet market


Chinese domestic prices for ultra-high-power (UHP) grade graphite electrodes and small-sized electrodes showed signs of stabilizing over the past week, as purchases from electric-arc-furnace (EAF) producers have slowed, according to Mysteel’s latest survey.
As of June 16, Mysteel’s benchmark price for 600mm UHP grade electrodes in East China’s Jiangsu province was unchanged on week at Yuan 27,000/tonne ($4,220.1/t), while the price of 350mm diameter electrodes also in Jiangsu remained at Yuan 21,000/t, both including the 13% VAT, according to the database.
