NBS: China's Jan-Sept aluminum output up 7.2%


Over this year’s January-September period, China's production of primary aluminum increased by 7.2% on year to 29.2 million tonnes, the growth being slower than the 8.3% on-year rise for January-August, due to the on-month decline in output for September, Mysteel Global noted from the latest data released by the country's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on October 18.
For September alone, the total output of primary aluminum amounted to 3.1 million tonnes, lower by 2.1% on year or down 2.5% on month, the data show. The decline was most likely caused by stricter power rationing in areas hosting major smelting facilities such as North China's Inner Mongolia and
