In August, Japan’s finished carbon steel sales both at home and abroad rose by 7.3% on year to about 4.93 million tonnes, and the volume for January-August added up to 40.58 million tonnes, or up 12.2% on year, according to the release by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF) on October 18, illustrating better demand in and out of the country, a JISF official commented.
